The story of Cyrano, written in rhyme by the French Edmond Rostand, tells of an invincible poet and swordsman, well known for his great… nose.
A brave hero, a true cadet from Gascony, an enemy of injustice and defender of freedom, as bold in battle as he is shy in love, to the point of not being able to confess his passion for his cousin Rossana. She (unfortunately) is in love with another cadet: Cristiano, very beautiful but who, alas, cannot talk about love.
And so Cyrano, who is too ashamed with girls, devises a trick: he will write love poems to Rossana, while pretending to be … Christian. And Rossana will not notice anything … what blindness of love!
To complicate everything comes the villain of our story: Count De Guiche, the commander of the cadets of Gascogne, a truly evil man, in love with the beautiful Rossana too.

One beautiful evening Rossana and Cristiano get married in great secret. Cyrano, pretending to fall from the moon, blocks the way for De Guiche who is arriving at that very moment; he gets mad and sends all the cadets to war. During the siege of Arras, Cristiano will die in battle, before being able to confess this deception to Rossana.

But soon, you will see for yourself this confusion of love.
You will also see the actors who tell you this story.
And they tell you about it with their old marionette.
They are all part of a real and ancient family of actors, called Monticelli who went around the streets and villages telling ballads at times tragic and at times comic … at other times mysterious and scary … or adventures of princesses and knights.
You will see, in this old theater, a marionette company with a singer, who will sing for you, the story of Cyrano and his misfortune.
While tomorrow, maybe they will tell about Hamlet or Julius Caesar. Or, more simply, Fagiolino and Sandrone stories, heroes of the puppet shack, as our family did, with William and Otello and before him, Cesare Vittorio, and even before the main comedian, Ariodante. And as we will do now.
